Divine Servants Recognized at Nashville, Pensacola Benefit Dinners

The Divine Servant Award is our way of saying thanks to individuals or couples who have demonstrated faithful support of Mount Dora Children's Home over a period of many years.

New Divine Servants were recognized at our regional benefit dinners in the second half of 2021. They are as follows:

Allan and Heather Overton received the Divine Servant Award at the Pensacola Benefit Dinner. Allan and Heather are members at Airport Road Church of Christ in Crestview, Florida.

Becky Little received the Divine Servant Award at this year's Nashville Area Benefit Dinner. She is a member at Bellevue Church of Christ in Nashville.

Our sincere thanks to these Divine Servants and to everyone who supports the mission of Mount Dora Children's Home and makes our work possible.

Small Church Raises $8,000 for Change for Children Program

LaBelle Church of Christ may be small in numbers, but each year this congregation in Southwest Florida shows it has a big heart and a willingness to dig deep to help Mount Dora Children’s Home.

What sets LaBelle apart is its minister, Steve Hildebrand, who each year gives the church a fun-related challenge. This year, Steve told the congregation he would let them give him a buzz haircut if they raised at least $7,000. They did, and you can see Steve’s haircut in the photo above!

If your church would like to participate in the Change for Children coin can drive or would like to discuss ways to increase your response to the program (short of getting a buzz cut!) , contact Trent Wheeler at trent.wheeler@mdchome.org or call the Development Office at 352-383-0762.
