As a Christian organization, Mount Dora Children’s Home emphasizes spiritual training as a vital part of each individual’s life, both children and adults. 

The spiritual aspect is foundational to every aspect of the Residential Care Program. Our primary goal is to expose everyone who comes into our care to the love of Christ, and we seek ways to nurture their faith while in our program. This includes family devotionals, participation in faith-based activities, and attending church. All of our staff incorporate Christian principles into everyday interactions with our residents.

A relationship with Christ is at the center of the Single-Parent Program. Parents develop a closer bond with Jesus through church attendance, Bible study classes, and Christian parenting classes. We hope that every single parent will choose to follow Christ or renew their existing relationship.

At Mount Dora Christian Academy, students also take Bible classes at all grade levels, participate in daily chapel, and learn to serve others through community service projects.

We understand that each child is unique and tailor services and education to meet each child’s specific needs. Mount Dora Children’s Home shares a campus with Mount Dora Christian Academy. The Academy is a fully accredited school that serves children from preschool through 12th grade. Students who meet the Academy admission criteria will attend MDCA contingent upon space availability.

Every child is supported in identifying opportunities to explore and enhance their education, sports, and recreational interests. Most children in our care (if eligible) attend Mount Dora Christian Academy, located on the same campus as Mount Dora Children’s Home. Our children participate in extracurricular activities offered by the Academy, including competitive athletics programs, music, and theatre.
