Your help needed to renovate aging single-parent housing

It’s makeover time for the housing used by the Single-Parent Program at MDCH, and your help is needed to make it happen.
Renovations to the apartments and houses on campus began this summer and are averaging about $17,000 per unit. There are eight housing units altogether. The apartments were built in the 1970s and the houses are even older. Most had never undergone significant updates.
The first house to be renovated is the home shown here on North McDonald Street. It’s been transformed from a “plain Jane” tired old house into a colorful and cute modern cottage. Renovations include new flooring, windows, roof, kitchen appliances, fixtures, interior and exterior paint, and landscaping. Two apartments have also been renovated thus far.
