Mount Dora Children’s Home Announces Garrett Schwarz as Next Vice President of Social Services

MOUNT DORA, FLORIDA—Mount Dora Children’s Home is pleased to announce the appointment of Garrett Schwarz as Vice President of Social Services. Currently serving as the athletic director at York University, Schwarz has spent his career walking alongside young people and families, helping them navigate challenges with compassion and Christ-centered guidance.

Keys to a New Future

Today, the Mount Dora Children’s Home Single-Parent Program witnessed an incredible act of kindness that will transform the life of one of its participants. Jazmarie Martinez Cruz, a devoted mother to two young sons, Kairo and Jaydrien, was gifted a fully restored 2013 Ford Escape thanks to the generosity of Christian Brothers Automotive in Mount Dora.

Chuck Shepherd promoted to vice president of social services

Mount Dora Christian Academy & Children’s Home announces the promotion of Chuck Shepherd to vice president of social services. This change comes after serving as director of social services for the last 33 years. As vice president, he will expand his role to include more community engagement to share the successes of and build support for the Children’s Home. He will continue his role on the MDCA&CH executive leadership team.
